Since 1981, Harmony House has helped people live their lives, their way. Our Independence Supported Living (ISL) and community day programs for adults with disabilities in Independence, MO, give every person the freedom to explore what makes them feel capable, confident, and fulfilled.

Through Harmony House's Independent Supported Living program, clients gain daily living skills, confidence, and community in staffed homes tailored to their routines, safety, and independence.

Our day programs help clients build skills, friendships, and purpose through structured activities, therapies, volunteering, and community outings near home.

Family-friendly events encourage clients, relatives, and caregivers to connect, celebrate achievements, share resources, and enjoy meaningful time together.

Day Programs

Every day looks different at Harmony House, and that’s what makes it special. Our day programs offer opportunities to explore new interests, learn new skills, and plant the seeds for lasting friendships.

Just like the people we support, every program is unique. Whether someone loves dancing and socializing or prefers a slower pace and quiet reflection, everyone can find their home away from home here and grow at their own pace.

Independent Supported Living

Extending our support at all hours, our ISL program is built on the same foundation as our day programs: respect, advocacy, and empowerment. Our homes allow each individual to choose between privacy and community every moment of every day, allowing them to define their routine.

With 24-hour support, residents gain the confidence to live independently, knowing that help is always close by when they need it. From practicing safe cooking to learning money management skills, we teach through experience, celebrating every win together like family.

We don’t reserve celebrations for milestones and birthdays. It’s woven into daily life at our community day programs for adults with disabilities in Independence.

Harmony House Care Homes hosts a wide range of events, both for our community and the greater Kansas City area. Each celebration is a no-pressure space to try new things and meet new people. We make sure there’s always something to look forward to, and always a reason to celebrate growth, connection, and life itself.
