From upbeat jams to calming melodies, music heals and connects, and it’s a big part of everyday life at Harmony House. We always welcome artists to perform for our programs.

Explore. Connect. Belong.
Since 1981, Harmony House has provided disability support services in Kansas City, MO, to empower adults to live their lives, their way. They set the pace. They define their day. We’re simply here to provide a safe, encouraging space where they can thrive.
Supporting Every Journey

Adults with disabilities gain daily living skills, confidence, and community in staffed homes tailored to their routines, safety, and independence.

Our day programs help build skills, friendships, and purpose through structured activities, therapies, volunteering, and community outings near home.

Family-friendly events invite clients, relatives, and caregivers to connect, celebrate achievements, share resources, and enjoy meaningful time together.
Day Programs
Our day programs inspire learning through living every day. Providing a personalized balance of structure and freedom, we help adults with disabilities learn, connect, and grow on their terms while returning to the comfort of their own homes at night to recharge.
We designed each of our programs to create a comfortable environment for every need and preference. Here, individuals who thrive in lively, social settings and those who feel most at peace in calmer, slower-paced environments alike can feel at home.

The Heart of Harmony House
Harmony House is where independence takes root and confidence blossoms. We recognize that growth looks different for everyone, but it can’t be forced or rushed. That’s why we offer not just programs, but a partnership built on trust, respect, and patience. We support people how and when they need it, walking alongside them to help them achieve their goals at their pace.
Here, every day is an opportunity to try something new, and these moments are learning opportunities. Whether someone’s cooking their own dinner for the first time or making a new friend, we celebrate visible breakthroughs and quiet progress with the same energy.

Harmony House has grown to serve more people in more ways over the decades, but one thing hasn’t changed: our mission. We’re dedicated to helping people live their lives, their way. Inclusion, patience, and encouragement aren’t promises here.
They’re things we practice every day.
Advocacy, respect, and empowerment guide everything we do. We give people the freedom to choose, making space for self-discovery and independence by listening first, and doing with—not doing for.
