Why We Love Working Here

Connection Comes First
Our work is rooted in friendship. Don’t be surprised if people line up to hug you in the morning or tell you they love you on your way out.

Watch Confidence Bloom
Seeing someone achieve their goals, whether it’s cooking their own dinner or making a new friend, is the best part of the job.

Always in It Together
No one stands alone here. We thrive by helping others grow, sharing ideas, lending a hand, and celebrating every win as a team.
Grow With Us
Join a team that feels like family and make every day meaningful for you and the people you support.
The Heart of Harmony House
At Harmony House Care Homes, we recognize that independence is something people build, not something you can hand over. Since 1981, we’ve provided the space and support for disabled adults in the Kansas City community to live their lives, their way.
Like a tree, independence and confidence require time and the right environment to grow. We plant those seeds and water them every day, taking the time to understand what each individual needs to thrive.

Everyday choices are powerful. From what you eat in the morning to who you choose to spend time with, every decision defines more than your day—they make you who you are. While our Independent Supported Living (ISL) and day programs provide structure, they also provide a safe space to try new things, overcome challenges, and simply be. Our team supports people how and when they need it, respecting their preferences and moving at their pace.
Our DSP jobs in Kansas City aren’t about doing things for people. They’re about doing things with them, helping every individual achieve their goals on their own terms. We’re always there to lend a helping hand, but we also know when to step back and allow people to experiment, problem-solve, or take a break.
At Harmony House, advocacy, respect, and empowerment drive everything we do. Trust comes first, then friendship, then growth. Every accomplishment is something worth celebrating, and helping people make confident decisions can instill a sense of pride that lasts far beyond a shift.
